Privacy
The short version
No accounts. No ads. No tracking or analytics. We never ask for your name, email, phone number, or records.
What happens when you visit
Our web host, Netlify, delivers the pages. Like any web host, it may keep basic technical logs, such as your IP address and browser type, to run and protect the site.
Your ZIP code or state is matched to listings in your browser. We do not save your searches. They do appear in the page address, so they can show up in your browser history.
What stays in your browser
If you choose Español, turn on dark mode, or use an accessibility tool like bigger text, your browser remembers that choice. It is not sent to us. You can clear it by clearing your browser data. "Read this page aloud" uses your device's own voice.
Community posts
If community posts are turned on, you post with a nickname only. Posts are stored with our database provider, Supabase, and a team member reads every post before it appears. Supabase can see your IP address when your browser loads or sends posts. Do not post claim numbers, medical details, phone numbers, emails, addresses, or links. To mark posts as helpful or reported, your browser keeps a short list so you do not mark the same post twice. When you send a post, the site lets our team know by email that a post is waiting on that page. The email does not include your nickname or your message.
If you answer “Was this guide helpful?”, we add one to the Yes or No count for that guide. The count is kept by our web host, Netlify. We store only the counts, not who voted. Your browser remembers your own answer so you can change it.
Links to other websites
Listings link to the VA and other official sites. Those sites have their own privacy rules. We share nothing with them.
